Black, Yellow, and Chocolate Labradors and Golden Retrievers
The above dogs are excellent choices. They are very popular because of their good temper. They are highly intelligent and easy to train.
They have also been bred well for hunting. They are good swimmers. Labradors have webbed feet and a coat that repels water. They have a natural love of retrieving and that is what you need them for.
Some labradors and golden retrievers will also point and that makes them ideal for upland bird hunting or for waterfowl hunting. Don't think that your labrador is ever going to point like a German Shorthair or Spaniel. They can, however, point often. They will not usually hold their point as long, as strong, or as well as a true pointing breed.
