Dove Hunting

Some people like to hunt little gray mourning doves. You can tell a mourning dove because their wings have a distinct whistle when they take off.

The hunt usually starts in the early fall (September). Mourning doves are especially keen to the cold weather. Often times you will see lots of them and then one cold morning and they are gone for the rest of the year.

Mourning doves like sunflower patches. If you look for fields of wild sunflowers, you will likely find them.
