Bird Hunting Boots
To hunt birds, it is best to have a good pair of Goretex lined boots. The boots should go up to the mid calf range.
The reason is that you will constantly get your feet wet. The brush may be wet, you may be next to a river. You never know what is going to happen and the Goretex will let your feet breathe while keeping the water out.
You need a mid calf boot because there are so many thorns and seeds that get into your socks to bother you all day long. The mid calf boot with long pants does a pretty good job of preventing all the pokes.
If you hunt in extreme cold weather, you may need two pair of boots; one for fall and one for winter. A good winter boot should be waterproof, good to walk in, and handle extreme cold. You have to think about it a little. Many hunters end up stepping into water and even having it go over the top of the boot. You need something to retain heat well because your feet will practically freeze off in minutes.
